Bakhtiar Bana
Welcome to MB Dental at Heights! My name is Bakhtiar Bana, and I am a graduate of the University of Texas School of Dentistry (UTSD) at Houston. This program has equipped me with the knowledge, experience, and exceptional mentors to help me realize my dream of becoming a caring healthcare provider. A little bit about myself: I was born in Karachi, Pakistan. When I was eight years old our family moved to Ireland, where I grew up in the small rural town of Clonmel. Growing up in Clonmel was different. The change in culture, language, and lifestyle was starkly different from my native country. This change helped broaden my understanding of diversity and heightened my awareness of different cultures and the people living around me. I quickly adapted to the outdoor lifestyle of Ireland, and today, hiking, biking, and sports have all become lifelong hobbies. At age sixteen, we moved to the USA. It was here that I researched and discovered dentistry as my life’s calling. In 12th grade, I shadowed a dentist in Clear Lake. As my interest in the profession grew, this dentist became my mentor and inspiration. My appreciation for the traditions of our profession only grew through our relationship, and her interest in my career development was the spark that put me where I am today.
Living in the heart of Houston, in my free time I like to spend time with my wife and family, watch football, hike, try new foods, and BBQ. Recently, I gained interest in smoking briskets and ribs, so if you have any tips/recipes to help me improve my skills I'd love to hear about it during our appointment! I am a firm believer in lifelong learning; therefore, I am regularly involved in continuing education courses. I don't think of these courses as requirements for my license, but rather as ways of learning how to be best for my patients. I believe my past and current experiences, both in educational and workplace settings, have shaped me as a leader, team player, and a proud health care provider. Looking forward to meeting you.
Anisa Maredia, DDS
Dr. Anisa Maredia graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center School of Dentistry in San Antonio, and earned her Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) from a joint program by NYU Langone Dental Medicine and A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ASDOH). Texas has been her home for over 16 years, as well as the place where she continues her post-graduate education through courses that focus on cosmetic dental procedures, implants and periodontal health. She is also working towards her AGD Fellowship and has completed advanced training from AEGD with a focus on dental implant placement and restorations, and treating the dental needs of high-risk patients who are immunocompromised or are on active chemotherapy and radiation.
Dr. Maredia’s philosophy of dentistry is patient-centric with an ultimate goal of healthy smiles. A strong advocate for oral-systemic health connections, she believes that patient education is critical in their understanding that the health of the mouth affects the health of the entire body. By devoting her efforts to preventive dentistry, Dr. Maredia empowers people to sustain and take authority of their overall wellness. She prioritizes thoroughly explaining treatment plans and procedures to her patients and enjoys taking the time to make her patients feel comfortable, attending to their concerns and tailoring dental care to their individual needs.
Dr. Maredia continues to be an active member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association®, Texas Dental Association, Greater Houston Dental Society, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry and Academy of Laser Dentistry.
Apart from her clinic, she dedicates her time to her husband and son. She also enjoys traveling, hiking natural parks and reading (a paperback book in particular).
